Zaandam Mexican adventure, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico...

We missed the port of Loreto, Mexico yesterday due to high wind conditions and had an unscheduled overnight stop in Puerto Vallarta. Again today, I took way too many sail in photos. Arriving close to 4 pm, we were off the ship and in a cab headed to our favorite haunt…the Puerto Vallarta Malecon in Old Town. The Malecon is a vibrant two-mile-long beachfront promenade, a hub for activity, art, and history, located in the heart of downtown Puerto Vallarta along Banderas Bay known for its iconic street art and sculptures. The weather was very comfortable with very few tourists around. Once we arrived at City Hall, we went to visit the crown topped Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the most recognizable symbol of Puerto Vallarta. The church is located in the main square of the town and dominates the downtown skyline. We continued to the Los Arcos Amphitheater and along the Malecon up to the South Side known as the Romanic Zone. We did some exploring and got a taxi back to the cruise terminal. We arrived back at the ship on time for diner and to see the gorgeous sunset. Great stop and happy for the crew to have an overnight stop Puerto Vallarta.
