Fort Lauderdale, Florida.... Off to Europe!

Well, the long-awaited day finally arrived and we boarded the wonderful Zuiderdam, once again…  Destination Europe!  Stay tuned for the next 71 days as Ann, Cathy and I try to get the most out of our European adventure.  The day started of well, Michelle, the Group & Event Coordinator, escorted us on the ship as soon as it was open for boarding.  Once onboard, I went to see if my dear friend Shiv Charan, the Executive Housekeeper, was still onboard or had he departed already for a well-deserved vacation…  Today was our lucky day, not only was he still around, we had time for a nice visit.   That really started the day off well!  From there, we continually ran into old friends that we had sailed with over the years.  The luggage arrived, everything was unpacked, muster drill complete and now it’s time to enjoy…  I went out on the open decks and took a few photos as we sailed out of Port Everglades heading across the Atlantic…  We now have 6 days at sea, next stop, Praia di Vitoria, Terceira, Azores.  This is a place not to be missed, just a beautiful island…  Come along for the ride as we explore Europe!
