Here go are again, off sailing the Canada/New England Coast. Our main reason for taking these cruises was sail with our good friend Florin Dragomir, Hotel General Manager. The best laid plans do not always materialize…Florin is in quarantine recovering from COVID…he will be released from isolation in Montreal so we will have our second week to catch up. We did catch a hello from high up on his balcony. We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted at check in by Mitch, the Mariner Event Coordinator, who we sailed with this past winter on the Rotterdam. This is my first time aboard the Zaandam and so far, I am pleasantly surprised what wonderful condition the ship is in… As for the Officers and crew, they Rock!!!! At the Mariners cocktail party there were so many familiar faces of staff and passengers we have sailed with in the past. We went out for sail away and I was able to capture some of the sites leaving Boston Harbor including Fort Independence on Castle Island, one of the oldest British constructed forts in the United States. It’s really been a whirlwind of a day, so many old friends and trying to sort out these new cameras…. Life is good. Tomorrow is a very early day; we will be up and ready at 0630 to head into Bar Harbor Maine… Should be grand!
