Bar Harbor, Maine...

Up early and I mean very, very early… before 5 am for sail in photos. Ann, Cathy and I were on the first tender to Bar Harbor, and we were very excited. I always love coming to Bar Harbor…  We explored the harbor area overlooking Frenchman’s Bay before the throngs of people invaded this lovely quintessential small town New England. We strolled around Bar Harbor’s very walkable downtown core to peruse its many shops, observe the numerous Tudor and Victorian-style buildings, the Martha Todd tall ship before making our way to the Acadia Gem. Acadia GEM rents Electric Vehicles and was a fun way to explore Acadia National Park in a smaller, easier to maneuver vehicle. We followed the map directions and took the Park Loop Road enjoying the scenery along the way and a visit to the must-do drive to the top of Cadillac Mountain. Cadillac Mountain, at 1,530 feet, is the tallest mountain on Mount Desert Island and the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard. Unfortunately, our directions went askew but Acadia Gem offered a vehicle on our return visit next week in order for us to complete the second half of the Acadia Park Loop route. It was a fabulous day!  We returned to the ship, spent the afternoon enjoying the sunny day in Bar Harbor. Off to Canada tomorrow.
