It was an early morning sail into Sydney....the weather was very overcast with a low ceiling....we were very concerned about the status of our helicopter flight. Ann, Cathy and I disembarked the ship early...Cathy confirmed the flight was a go with Heliexperiences...so we waited for our pickup to drive to the airport. Following a gridlock drive to the airport, we finally made it! We did our weigh in, safety briefing and we were off for our scenic flight of Sydney and beyond...due to the cloud cover our pilot did not attempt to tour the Blue Mountains. We had a very comprehensive 45 minute flight over Sydney seeing the iconic landmarks such as the; Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbor Bridge, Darling Harbor and Sydney Tower... Jason our pilot made his way to the picture perfect northern and eastern suburbs and beaches like Manly and Bondi in all their glory. The flight was great and so was the weather. After the flight we returned to downtown Sydney were we had the driver drop us at St. Mary’s Cathedral...we made our way to the Opera House and then walked around Circular Quay, stopping for lunch...our tour continued to the Rocks area where the Saturday market was in full swing. Then it was off to the trendy Barangaroo and Darling Harbor areas before returning to the ship anchored in White Bay. It was a very, very nice day!
