Today we visited Fiordland National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site which encompasses nearly 105 of New Zealand. The 3 sites visited were Dusky Sound which we visited early this morning under overcast skies... It was beautiful nonetheless, despite the weather... A little over an hour later, we visited our second site, Doubtful Sound. Doubtful Sound is the second most popular fiord with dramatic beauty as we sailed through under much improved weather conditions.... Such dramatic scenery! Our final visit was to Milford Sound.... we certainly saved the best for last.... It is the most popular fiord with very dramatic scenery with high mountains on either side of the ship with it’s fabulous waterfalls cascading down. This is my 4th time through Milford Sound and the weather, by far, was the best yet! The conditions were just perfect! The whole day was one of perfection.... I have chosen to post each Sound separately so there are the three parts of a spectacular day in Fiordland National Park, New Zealand....
