Today began with an early morning wake up and opportunity for photos as we started the transit through the Suez Canal. It was a great day for the transit and we were able to see something a little different from the past. At a point during the transit, the canal separated into northbound and southbound routes that have been opened so they can have two way traffic. We sailed along the new northbound channel that was opened after our transit last year. It was interesting watching the Maersk Ship behind us all day as it is the world’s largest container ship with a capacity for 20,000 containers. In front of us was an Egyptian warship paving the way for a uneventful transit. We were pretty excited as we approach the Mediterranean Sea and our first two ports in Israel. What a great day!!!
