2016 Grand World Voyage, Day 68 Yangon, Myanmar

Our final day started with our flight to Yangon where our guide picked us up at the airport and proceeded to drive us to the Shwedagon Pagoda.  No visit to Myanmar is complete without seeing the 2500 year old Shwedagon Pagoda......the most sacred and impressive Buddhist site for the people of Myanmar.   This pagoda consists of hundreds of colorful temples, stupa’s and statues that reflect the architectural era spanning almost 2500 years.  This is a magnificent symbol of Buddhism.  The photo opportunities were just endless.....  It was an excellent way to add value and value to a very long day of travel.   Myanmar has warmly welcomed us again, it is an unforgettable experience in a world of unspoiled nature and incredible cultural heritage that intensifies my passion for travel.   I think Myanmar will be seeing me again someday..... Hopefully very soon!   I have to admit, as great as our Myanmar adventure was, it was good to be back home on the Amsterdam...
