2016 Grand World Voyage, Day 62, Da Nang, Vietnam (Part 1 of 2)

Ann, Cathy & I started our day off with an 8:00 pickup from our driver....  The plan was to go to Marble Mountain the visit the caves & Temples and Ancient Hoi An...  Our day began by making an unscheduled stop to view the fishing boats that lined the water and we noticed across from the harbor a Buddhist Temple known as Chua Buu Daison, this was one of the beautiful temples that I have seen.  We continued our journey to Marble Mountain in Da Nang.  The site includes five limestone mountains and is one of the historical interests of the Dan Nang area.  Other features of the site are numerous caves, tunnels, pagodas and sacred sites.  The day continued with a visit to the ancient town of Hoi An, an UNESCO World Heritage site.  This city is an unique concentration of architectural monuments, such as pagoda, temples, covered Chinese bridge, market and a communal house that has been preserved intact.  On our return to the ship we made a detour to visit the Guanyin 67m Statue, the Goddess of Mercy overlooking the South China Sea, a spectacular site.  It was another fabulous day in Vietnam.... This is part 1 of 2
