Day 78 At Sea

Well, our last day at sea has arrived and it is a very sad moment….  This voyage was simply amazing!  I sailed on 6 Grand Asia Voyages and 8 Grand World Voyages and this may have been the best.  The staff and crew excelled at every level.  The little changes that were made since the last World Voyage that ended in April didn’t go unnoticed and were greatly appreciated.  The Culinary, Beverage and Housekeeping departments were simply wonderful.  I want to thank Captain Fred Eversen, Hotel Director Henk Mensink and Cruise Director Gene Young and their staffs for their excellent performance day in and day out.  As for today… it was a little cooler than normal so we sat mid ship for the morning visiting with friends and reading.  Then it was pool side in the afternoon for a bit of sunshine.  At 4:00 I was in the Greenhouse Spa & Salon for a 2 hour session with Marta and her magical hands, Lime & Ginger Exfoliation, hot stone massage, Swedish massage and a mini facial…  What a day!  This evening we had our final meal in the La Fontaine Dining Room.  Dinner was great and it was sad to say see you later to our friends….  Some will return for the World Voyage but most will leave.  The crew sand a farewell to us at dinner which was very touching.  Tomorrow morning we pull into San Diego where the Grand Pacific & Far East Voyage officially ends and the Panama Canal Voyage begins…..  New travelers coming aboard…..  We’ll see how it goes….

  1. Hey, Jeff....
Glad you had a great 78 days with friends and memories. Question... do you keep your belongings in the same cabin between the end of this voyage and the beginning of the Panama adventure? Suppose there would be no other way unless they were nasty.
    Thanks.
