Today was pretty laid back… It was overcast for a good portion of the day mixed with rain….. It wasn’t too bad since it gave me an excuse to go ahead and pack for our overland adventure to Machu Picchu. We leave the ship tomorrow in Manta Ecuador and fly to Lima Peru via Quito Ecuador, We spend the night in Lima and take a morning flight to Cuzco. We’ll tour Cuzco Saturday afternoon and then take the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu Sunday morning….. so exciting! I went to=here in 2007 but just didn’t have enough time. After arriving in Aguas Calientes we will take the bus to the top of the mountain to macho Picchu. We’ll have Sunday and Monday morning to explore Machu Picchu. Hopefully we’ll get a break in the weather (rain forecast)…. Monday we return to Cuzco for a flight to Lima Peru where we will catch a taxi back to the ship in Callao….. I will try to keep the blog up to date but…… never know what will happen, will do my best. If I can’t keep it up I certainly will catch up quickly once I return to the ship.

Hi Jeff,
ReplyDeleteEnjoy. We were so lucky when we visited Machu Picchu in January, 2006. It had been raining steadily for days up there but when we arrived the sun was shining and was it hot! We had to buy sun hats and tried not to get sunburnt. It a wonderful place to visit.
