The Next Adventure Awaits...

Well, what’s next?  The next adventure is coming soon…..  On September 2nd my friend Brad will pick me up from my home here in Virginia and will head west.  It will be an interesting month and a half on the road.  Two guys on the road, unsupervised…. Could be trouble.  You know how it is, boys will be boys.  Anyway, I digress.  Our itinerary is coming together pretty well.  Here is the general outline as it exists today…..   On September 2nd we basically take a beeline west with our first big stop at Canyon de Chelly in Arizona followed by… Painted Desert, Petrified Forest National Park, Sedona, Grand Canyon (south & north rim), Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon, Rainbow Bridge National Monument, Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Capitol Reef National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, Arches National Park, Colorado National Monument, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Great Sand Dunes National Park, Mesa Verde National Park, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park with a grand finale at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta for 9 days.  Do you think that will keep us busy?  I am so up for this trip…..

  1. It's a great trip and it will keep you busy! Some of those parks you will have almost all to yourself, such as the Colorado National Monument and Black Canyon of the Gunnison. They are wonderful, nevertheless. Enjoy!

Be sure to acquire a Utah Rocks t-shirt for your collection. Shows all the Utah National Parks.

    Enjoy!

  3. Hi Jeff.... You will love Mesa Verde BUT if you have time, try to arrange a tour of the Ute Mountain Park. This park is part of the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings, but is owned by the Ute Mountain tribe and is undeveloped!!! It is spectacular to see the ruins in their natural state. Needs to be arranged beforehand... Cortez Chamber of Commerce can give you the information. Balloon Fiesta is great also.... hope the winds are kind to you.
