Day 90 Cartagena, Colombia (Part 1 of 2)

Imagine that, 90 days gone already…  Just amazes me!  The sail into Cartagena is just fantastic, great fortresses guard the entrance to the harbor.  We arrived into Cartagena around 11:00 this morning and Ann, Cathy & I hooked up with a taxi driver named Luis who took us on a great tour of the city.  First we went high up La Popa Hill to the old Monastery for some magnificent views…  Next stop was the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas.  It is a magnificent 17th century fortress…. I just loved climbing all over it.  You can see from the photos from La Popa Hill just how large it is.  After spending a lot of time at the fort we headed to the Old walled city.  First stop was at Las Bovedas, old dungeons converted into a shopping area.  Very nice.  Then we walked around the city, taking in the sights like the Church of San Pedro Claver and Simon Bolivar Square….  We had a fabulous time exploring Cartagena and then, once back at the terminal we enjoyed taking in all the wild life that is kept there…  Fabulous day!!!!
