Day 100 St. George's, Grenada (Part 2 of 2)

As I mentioned in part 1, it was a really good day in Grenada….  The people we very nice and the city has come a long way back from all the devastation of the past.  Certainly came across some interesting characters today, just a wonderful day!

  1. Hi again!

Still loving your blog. Can I ask you a question about the South Pacific?

We'll be going Feb/Mar to Suva, Port Vila, Papeete, Bora Bora and Rarotonga. None of the ship's excursions are all that great. I notice you pick up tours on shore 'on the fly' quite often. I've never done that. Is there enough to go around, will I be making a mistake by taking that chance. Unlike you, this will probably be our one an only time at these places.

I'd rather not sign up for a cruise excursion if I can help it, but I do worry about picking up someone at the dock. Can you offer any advice?

  2. If you are will to do a lot of research and do the work ahead of time you can easily do it on your own. I do "do it on the fly" a lot but I am pretty experienced at this. I wouldn't recommend it to someone in your situation. The ship's tours may be the best alternative. My first long voyages I did ship's tours all the time....
