Day 94 Jamestown, St. Helena (Part 1 of 2)

Left early this morning with Ian & Carole on the first tender to explore St. Helena….  We hooked up with a driver and took a tour.  We stopped along the way for scenic views on our way to Napoleon’s tomb.  Next up was Longwood House where he lived up to his death in 1821.  We spent some time in the gardens….  Just beautiful!  Then we headed out to the Plantation House, the residence of the Governor of St. Helena and most importantly, Jonathan…  a tortoise reputed to be over 170 years old.  Then we went to the top of Jacob’s Ladder, 699 steps up to the ridge above town, some 900 feet.  Great view.  We then returned to town, Ian & I hung out at Castle gardens taking photos and hooking up with WiFi while Carole climbed Jacob’s Ladder.  It turned out to be a very nice day….
