Sailing to Cabo San Lucas by cruise ship is indeed a picture-perfect experience, the vibrant colors of the water, the rugged cliffs, and the iconic El Arco rock formation, which marks the entrance to the harbor. An added bonus of the sail in was encountering whales. Today we were meeting a grade school friend of mine Diana and her partner David. Before meeting up with Diana and David, Ann, Cathy and I got off the ship very early and spent nearly two hours walking around the harbor area, enjoying the views of the yachts and boats, pelicans and the sea lions. Diana met us at the port entrance, we did our introductions and off we went visiting downtown Cabo. We stopped for a coffee break at Cabo Coffee and caught up about things going on in everyone’s lives. For the last few days, I have been suffering with severe sciatica pain and today walking for any distance was debilitating. Regrettably, we cut our visit time short by a couple of hours and returned to the ship. It was very nice of Diana and David to pick us up and it was a delightful visit and hope to see them on a future visit. Cabo is a tender port; it was very busy and crowded ashore with three ships in port. We returned to the ship and spent the afternoon in the sun…the weather was perfect. Another great day! I’m basically going to take it a day at a time to see if I can rid myself of this debilitating pain. It could be a while before I go ashore again… time will tell!
