I was out on deck well before sunrise the lighting was terrible but, I did the best I could the conditions. Ann, Cathy and I got the first tender to town. Kona, located on the western coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, is known for its stunning beaches, vibrant coffee farms, and rich cultural heritage, making it a popular tourist destination. The region is also famous for its Ironman Triathlon, excellent snorkeling and diving spots, beautiful coastal scenery as well as the historic Kona Village. We had a pretty laid-back day in Kona…wandering around town taking in the sites. Kona has definitely suffered the effects of the pandemic and is still recovering. Returned to the ship early and spent the rest of the day taking in the beautiful weather. Later this evening we start our return journey to San Diego, via Ensenada, Mexico.
