Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada...

It was bright sunshine for our sail in due to our late morning arrival into Saint John.  We had a wonderful greeting when we arrived in the terminal from our friend Lori, whom I sailed with on many Grand voyages…it was a pleasure to see Lori again.  After leaving the terminal we were met by our guide Kenan for a tour of the area. Our first stop was the Reversing Falls, a one-of-a-kind natural attraction in the heart of the city, where during high tide (which is the highest in the world) the rapids of the Saint John River actually reverse direction.  Leaving the city we headed for St. Martin, along the Bay of Fundy coast. St. Martin is a small fishing village on the Bay of Fundy and is known for the highest tides in the world, which can be seen in St. Martins, and at low tide, you can walk on the ocean floor. The sea caves at the eastern end of the village but unfortunately, the tide was coming in when we arrived at the caves, so we were unable to visit them.  St. Martin is the gateway the Fundy Trail Parkway.  Driving this parkway allowed us a view of the 19 miles of unspoiled beauty of the Bay of Fundy and added to the views was the beauty of autumn colors.  We enjoyed this coastal access low speed network with over twenty scenic lookouts, we walked on the suspension footbridge over the Big Salmon River, visited Fuller Falls and I hiked through the woods to the Walton Glen waterfalls and viewing platform. We exited the Park at Sussex Corner.  Driving back to Saint John we enjoyed the beauty of trees splashed with shades of yellow and red and encountered a beautiful Trout Creek #5, Moore’s Mill cover med bridge built in 1923.  Making our way back to Saint John via Sussex, NB, we returned to the Reversing Falls to see the falls direction change.  By the time we returned to Saint John, it was getting late so we went up to see the city from the Fort Howe vantage point.  On our return to the ship, we had a quick scenic city tour to see scenic sites including the Victorian architecture of the Historic district with its stately homes and quaint historic churches.  Another great day on this Canada New England cruise with our guide Kenan and a fond farewell by Lori who was waiting for us at the port….  It was a fabulous day!!!!
