Hooray for bright sunshine!!! We had some low temps with a gusty crisp breeze blowing this morning on the forward deck when I was out taking sail in photos. I was freezing with the windchill, but the views were great… With the gorgeous, weather we made a quick decision to change our plans for today…on our last visit to Halifax it was foggy, so my photos were not what I expected…. Our time in port was shorter than last week’s stop in Halifax…We decided to forgo the tour to the Bay of Fundy to see the low tides for a return visit to Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg. We made a brief stop at Mahone Bay to see the iconic 3 churches and the marina. Our next stop was the picturesque town of Lunenburg…we drove up to the Bluenose Golf Course to see the old Town of Lunenburg, unfortunately the Bluenose was out to sea. Lunenburg’s harbor-side streets are lined with unique shops, restaurants that blend with the well-preserved and colorful painted historic homes, much of it like a living museum from the 18th century. Old Town Lunenburg is a designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. We walked around town taking in the historic painted buildings, streetscapes and the waterfront. Today, was a fabulous day to go to Peggy’s Cove…A picture perfect day! Just before Peggy’s Cove, we stopped at Indian Harbor to see the glacial erratic rocks. Our driver Gary took us to some out of the way fishing coves like East and West Dover and some other hidden photo gems on our return to Halifax. What a stellar day to finish off our Canadian potion of this great cruise…. Loving every day but I’m pretty worn out by the long days….
What a gorgeous day!!! Wish we were with the 3 of you.
