Bar Harbor, Maine, USA

I was up early for the sail into Bar Harbor and was thrilled with a photo opportunity with the Egg Rock Lighthouse. This morning we were met with cloudy skies with the sun coming in and out.  Once anchored, we had a bit of a delay with the arrival of US Immigration.  Once they finally showed up, we were off on the first tender to tour Bar Harbor. Meandering around the harbor front from the town pier we found the Shore Path that winds along the bay overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Following this harbor side path, we passed the Bar Harbor Inn and it’s the beautifully landscaped gardens. It was a great time of the day to be in town as the tide was low. We walked up Main Street did some shopping and made a stop at the Stadium Coffee Hound for scones! Ann tried a sample of the Lobster Ice Cream and said it did not resemble lobster had more of the taste of butter. Since this is the last day of the cruise, we decided to return to the ship early to finish our packing, and of course this blog…  I can’t pack up all my electronics until the job is done! We have had two unbelievably great weeks of jam-packed touring made even more special by the wonderful crew of the Zaandam! Taking this cruise has allowed us to reacquaint with many crew members we have sailed with in the past and to meet some new crew members who have been added to our family. It was a very special treat to be able to catch up with our dear friend Florin Dragomir…  The service and food on the Zaandam have been top shelf thanks to the very dedicated staff….  Zaandam, well done!!!!
