2017 Grand World Voyage, Day 129, Majuro, Marshall Islands (Part 2 of 2)

Today, from my usual location on Deck 6 forward, I really had to hang on…. It was an extremely windy sail-into Majuro.  I was very cautious while taking my photos this morning as this is where I fell a couple of weeks ago…..  Fortunately today was accident free….   Ellie, Cathy and I were off the ship as soon as it was cleared and negotiated a taxi tour of the island.  Majuro is the capital of the Marshall Islands and is about thirty-six miles long.  Our tour covered all of Majuro from the town of Rita to Laura as well as a shopping stop at the airport.  Laura Beach was a beautiful white sand beach wrapping the end of the Atoll.  Our driver, John Jitha,  was the consummate host, he showed us his homeland in detail, took us wherever we wanted to go and we really enjoyed our day with him.  His picture appears at the end of part 2 of the blog. In addition to John, the people everywhere were very friendly and did not object to having their pictures taken and even allowed us on their property for photos.  It was a very warm and muggy day but we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Marshall Islands.. Another four days at sea till we arrive at Guam.  This is a two part blog, this is part 2.
