We sailed into Cairns this morning arriving around 8:00 am. The skies looked pretty dark and the threat of storms looked pretty severe. There was a bit of sunshine after sunrise so I decided to go on my snorkeling adventure out on the Great Barrier Reef. Twenty of us headed out to the reef on a catamaran around 0845. The trip was about 2 hours to get to the reef and was it worth it…. The corals were simply amazing, such colors. The giant clams were incredible and I adored the blue starfish.... What an amazing day!
Stunning pics Jeff.

Hi Jeff
ReplyDeleteThanks for your blog. My husband has the Great Barrier Reef on his bucket list but neither of us scuba. From your photos it looks like surface snorkeling is all that is really necessary. Correct? How long were you in the water? Did you notice if there are any snuba adventures (like St Johns)? He owes you big time- thanks to your photos I am ready to go next winter.
I have never seen anything like that. How marvelous that you had that experience! Thank you so much for sharing!! Terry and Alex Rosin
ReplyDeletejeff, all i can say is ""WOW". great pictures. we all appreciate the trouble you go through posting them for our enjoyment considering the problems with the internet service on board. i know you bought an underwater camera a few years ago. is this the same one? beachlady

Great pictures Jeff! I was trying to come up with the numbers of my favourites, but there were too many. The only numbers I can remember are 28, 37 & 64. Thanks for sharing!
