Hot Springs, Virginia...

This morning I left home around eight o'clock heading for Hot Springs Virginia. I was off to see my friend Emily Frank get married to Brian Lipps at the Homestead resort. It took me about five and half hours to get there but the nice thing was that the drive was very scenic. The hotel and resort is very old built in 1766. The setting is just magnificent, very majestic. I spent most of the afternoon walking around the property and climbing up the hills. This evening we had a rehearsal dinner at the Garth Newell Music Center. The dinner was absolutely amazing and the desert was pretty nice as well. So much for my diet! Oh well, tomorrow's another day. Speaking of tomorrow, I plan to spend the day poolside touching up my tan and prior to the wedding. The wedding ceremony will take place on the casino lawn at five o'clock. It will be immediately followed by a magnificent reception. It promises to be a glorious day! (P.S., I like my new camera...)

  1. I can't figure out how to tell you how glad I am you are going to be driving around the states doing this this year. I love these pics, and hope the wedding is wonderful and your friends are happy forever.

  2. Hi Jeff:
It appears your new camera will do your talent justice. I love the pictures, the camera only takes the picture the photographer sights. I agree with Jan, glad you'll be doing USA photos this summer.
Do you have a tentative route planned, yet?

  3. I have a pretty good idea where I'll be going. The 5th of July I will be flying to Denver, Colorado to start my first adventure. From Denver I will be going North through Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota into Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada and returning to Colorado. On this trek I will be visiting all the national parks and scenic areas that I can find. The next road trip I have a pretty good understanding of what it will entail. I will be driving to Orlando, Florida next week and planning the details of the trip with my friend Brad. Generally speaking we will cover all the national parks of the Southwest through Arizona, California, Utah and perhaps Colorado. Currently we plan on finishing the journey at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in October. When I'm in Orlando we will plan the route stops along the way and determine where we will be lodging. I'm really looking forward to these trips.
