Since we arrived into the port of Puerto Vallarta long before sunrise, Ann, Cathy & I decided to wait until about 8:00 to take a taxi downtown….. We headed for the Malecon where we strolled for 2-3 hours, taking in the sights, doing a bit of shopping and running into friends along the way. We also made a special trip to a watch repair place we know and replaced batteries in quite a few watches. The day was quite a bit of fun, watching the people, trying to negotiate prices with vendors and just having a relaxing day. I was quite surprised to see how bad the beach was alond the Malecon, they must have had quite a storm, it was all large rocks and little sand. The spirit of Christmas was in the air everywhere we went. After about 4 hours, I left the sisters to return to the ship for some major sun action…. It was a very hot and sunny day. Haven’t seen many of those in a while. The sail away was wonderful! We had our Mexican Ambassadors entertain us with fantastic singing and dancing. Tonight, we had a Gala Night to celebrate Christmas Eve. The dinner was great followed by a magnificent show, “The Sounds of Christmas”, put on by the crew, the Singers and Dancers, along with an International, Filipino and Indonesian choirs. What an amazing evening. Merry Christmas!
