Day 16 Bergen, Norway
Well, Another beautiful sail into a Norwegian harbor….
Not surprised. We arrived into Bergen around 8:00 this morning just
behind another couple of ships. We got off the ship first thing and
headed for the funicular (Flaibanen) up to the top of Mt Flloyen to catch the
magnificent view of Bergen from above. Beautiful!!! We came down
from the mountain and headed for the harbor and then veered off to climb up to
St John’s church, beautiful church…. Then ocourse, we headed for the
Leprosy Museum, who wouldn’t????? Very interesting….. I waived the
5 second rule while I was there in case I dropped any food…. We spent
most of the rest of the afternoon at the Bryggen area and the harbor…..
The old reconstructed 14th century buildings makes walking the
harbor an eye pleasing adventure. What a perfect day for Bergen.
They don’t always have perfect weather like this so it was very, very
special. On the Amsterdam where we meet up with our friends Aart, Ellen
and Chloe…..

Jeff, you have been so lucky with the weather conditions during your visit in Norway. There are almost always (strong) winds in the west coast region, and in Bergen it rains a lot. I know the west coast weather quite good, since this is where I grew up (In a smaller town south of Bergen). I really think you have captured the essence of the nature in your photos! The red church from your Bergen photos is where my parents got married.
ReplyDeleteBon voyage on to Amsterdam - also a wonderful city!
