Day 21 Plymouth, England

This morning started out a bit slow…..  we were scheduled to dock at 8:00 in Plymouth but apparently, the dock was still occupied by the ferry.  You would think that someone would know the ferry schedule when setting up voyage itineraries.  Oh well, we were a hour late getting into port.  Aftert getting off the ship we took the shuttle into town center to get a jump on things then walked all over town.  First we headed for the Barbican which was lovely….  Here is where we checked out the Mayflower steps, where the Mayflower left in 1620 to head to America…..  Then we walked along the coast to the Hoe Park area.  Here we walked up to the top of the Smeaton’s Tower lighthouse, checked out the Royal Citadel and even rode the huge ferris wheel….  We eventually made our way back to the ship, stopping for refresments along the way…  Nice visit!

  1. Hi Jeff,
So glad your trip seems to be back on track and the weather is co-operating.
Hope you're happy with your new lens-seems like everywhere you've been the ducks are up for closeups! Great photos as always.
Best wishes for the remainer of the voyage.

  2. So enjoyed your trip blog! And wonderful to see that you have experienced Plymouth, and so close to my home town! Would have loved to have seen the Amsterdam, but unfortunately team GB and the Olympics have rather overtaken the lives of us Brits!! Wonderful blog as ever Jeff, keep it up we love it! Safe travels home. Elaine Jones fellow WC traveller1 X
