Tales of the South Pacific Neiafu, Vava'U, Tonga

It was a pretty exciting day today, first time visit to Neiafu, Tonga…..  The sail in was just beautiful with some of the islands having extraordinarily steep cliffs.  It was just beautiful everywhere you turned.  Corrine & I walked around town for a while, did some shopping and stopped at a local cafĂ©.  Then we hooked up with a driver, John, who took us around the island for a short tour.  We went to some caves, some nice scenic areas and finally to the beach.  When we returned to town, the first people we saw were Irene & Patrick.  Patrick was deeply involved with a game of marbles with some local children, they were having a blast.  We wandered around the town for a bit more shopping before heading back to the pier to catch a tender…  That is where the fun began, the lines were so long due to changing tides that it took us an hour and a half to catch a ride back to the ship…  not fun at all.
