2018 GWV, Day 44, Adelaide, Australia

Today, we decided to visit Cleland Wildlife Park, to see native Australian animals in their native environment...Janet, Mike, Ann, Cathy and I left the ship early to make our way into Adelaide by train...once in downtown Adelaide we took a taxi to the top of Mount Lofty to the wildlife park....we wandered the trails of the park, feeding the kangaroos, exploring the wetlands and having a nice visit with the koalas... The park is home to over 130 species of native animals from venomous snakeskangaroos, wombats, Tasmanian devils, koalas, countless birds and the rat like Potoroos... I have visited Cleland on a number of occasions in the past but still I enjoyed seeing the wildlife. Australia does a great job with these wildlife parks.  I love seeing the animals out in the open...  Our adventure continued on our return to Adelaide by city bus.  Adelaide is a city of wide streets and elegant neo-classical architecture, offering a visitor a myriad of opportunities to discover...the annual Fringe Festival was just starting so we enjoyed some entertainment while strolling the Rundle pedestrian mall. Another great day...looking forward to the next 2 days at sea and hoping for sunny skies.  I am having withdrawals from lack of hot, sunny weather....
