2018 Grand World Voyage, Day 3, Georgetown, Grand Cayman

Here we are on day three of the 2018 Grand World Voyage and the weather isn’t cooperating yet!  The weather in Ft. Lauderdale was much colder than normal, just like the rest of the USA.  The weather hasn’t improved a great deal since we left.  Yesterday was overcast and windy and as you’ll see from my photos today, Grand Cayman wasn’t up to its best.  As we arrived at our anchorage this morning I wouldn’t have been surprised if tender operations were cancelled.  The winds were rather fierce and  the seas rather choppy.  It worked out in the end and we were able to safely tender ashore.  My plans had originally been to go to 7 mile beach but given the conditions, shopping seemed to be the best choice.  The sister’s and I went ashore on the first tender and began our assault on the shops....  We found time along the way to hook up a little free Wi-Fi so all was right with the world.  We spend a few hours ashore and then returned to the ship.  We spent the remainder of the afternoon visiting with friends and enjoying the day.  I am really enjoying being back home on the Amsterdam.  I do not regret the fun times on the Koningsdam and the fabulous trip to Cuba on the Veendam but there is something special about coming home....  Loving every day!!!
