Koningsdam 2017, Day 45, At Sea

Well let’s see where do we begin…  It has been awhile since I posted so I I’ll try and catch you up on what’s been going on.  Our last port was Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, we, once again, decided to stay onboard.  It turns out we made a great decision, the skies opened up and the call was shortened….  We had a great day in the Retreat! This was Brad & Leslie’s last day so we went back to Sel de Mer, where Vlad Dragomir joined us for another spectacular meal.  Just love that place!!!!  The next morning it was turnover day again in Ft. Lauderdale…  The sisters were picked up by friends and did errands, shopping and some Wi-Fi….  I decided to take the group turnaround where we were all led through Immigration and theoretically allowed right back on the ship…  That’s the theory, it goes astray when 4 guests don’t leave the ship so we can all return.  US CBP doesn’t allow people back on the ship until zero count is achieved….  These inconsiderate #@%&’s held us all up for about an hour…. They should have been kept from sailing on the next voyage.  This cruise is a very special cruise, the Holland America O’ The Oprah Magazine voyage….  “The adventure of your life cruise”.  Now we have people all over the ship wearing their special t-shirts they received for this voyage….  Oops, except for the In-transit guests continuing on from the last voyage, like me, who apparently were overlooked for the special Oprah amenity.  They do have some dregs left…  small t-shirts that won’t fit anyone.  I can’t imagine how this could happen with the hundreds and hundreds of hours that went into planning this special voyage.  Oh well, there is probably some honor in having the stigma of being “Not t-shirt worthy”.  Well on a much more positive note our wonderful friends Leslie & Handler Smith joined us….  It is great seeing them and spending quality time with them…  Last night we had a spectacular dinner in the Tamarind Restaurant…  The entire Food & Beverage department should be very proud of the excellent service and food here on the Koningsdam. Since leaving Ft. Lauderdale, we have spent two glorious days in the Retreat….  No surprise.  Loving this voyage…..
