Koningsdam 2017, Day 37, Willemstad, Curacao

Here we are again in beautiful Curacao….  I enjoyed my last trip here immensely, it was so great to spend the day with Aart & Ellen.  Unfortunately, circumstances were such that I was unable to see my friends today.  The Scott sisters & I went out around 8:00 this morn9ng to explore Willemstad.  We walked from the brand new pier along the water past the dock we were at on our last visit to get to the Rif Fort.  Then we went to cross the water to get into town.  We had to take the ferry since the Queen Emma bridge was open to let a ship pass.  Once across, we wandered around the city, checking out the sights, shops, cafes and the floating markets….  It is such a lovely place to visit!  We spent the better part of 4 hours in town, even finding Brad & Leslie in one of the Casinos…..  That’s where a lot of the tourists go!  Once I had my fill for the day, it was back to the Retreat to relax on this Thanksgiving Day.  I have many things to be thankful for, especially this year moving so close to my family and friends….  Life is good.  Tonight we will dine in the Pinnacle Grill for our Thanksgiving Feast.  I’m thinking a Filet Mignon….. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
