2017 Grand World Voyage, Day 171, Ranthambore to Jaipur, India (Part 3 of 3)

The day started with an early morning game drive looking for tigers...once again we did not encounter any tigers and the wildlife was also limited.  I do not think that I would recommend the Ranthambore National Park for tiger safaris.  We had a four hour drive to Jaipur taking in the site of rural life in India. Once arriving in Jaipur we were thrown into the city’s colorful and chaotic streets.  Buses dodging camels, leisurely cycle-rickshaws frustrating swarms of motorbikes and cars.  We even spotted a member of the Jain religion walking down the road in their normal way, naked…  quite an unusual sight! In the midst of this mayhem, the splendors of Jaipur’s majestic past was our focus for the afternoon.  We visited the city’s heart, the City Palace that continues to house the former royal family and houses Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Temple and the City Place Museum.  After a long day, we decided to cut the day short as we have our early morning hot air balloon ride tomorrow.    This part 3 of a 3 part blog.

The spices, food, colorful saris, people, architecture, animals, history and culture....just love it all. Thank you so much for the time you are putting into this. We do appreciate it, believe me...safe journey...Beachlady
