2017 Grand World Voyage, Day 123, Honolulu, Hawaii

We arrived into the harbor of Honolulu before sunrise this morning docking next to the Aloha Tower…..  As soon as the ship was cleared, Ellie, Ann, Cathy & I left the ship and headed to get a rental car…..  First we made a quick stop at Starbucks for some updates with WiFi and then we were off on our adventure.  Our plan was to go along the coast to the Windward side and North shore of Oahu and back to Honolulu.  We first headed out toward Diamond Head and took scenic photos as we drove.  Along the way, we stopped at many scenic points like;  Makapuu Beach Park, Halona Blow Hole, Koko Crater and Chinaman’s Hat Island.  We stopped for lunch in  Kahuku at Tita’s Fish Shack in Kahului…way too much food!  The north shore is famous for surfing and we came upon the Sunset Beach world Juniors surfing competition…a great photo opportunity.  The waves were just enormous…  Just another day in paradise.

  1. Jeff, leave it to you to take such different photos of Honolulu. Certainly not the same old, same old... You took us on the circle island tour. Thank you for that! The only thing missing is a picture of your lunch plate. Hope your back is better. Beachlady

  2. Jeff as always your photos are spectacular, especially the surfing ones. I don't think I've seen any other professional photography better than that. Also #21 the bird on the broken limb just looks like a painting. Do you know what kind of bird it is. It didn't look like any of our Eastern Maritime birds.
    Love your blogs.
