Tales of the South Pacific, Day 38, Viatape, Bora Bora, French Polynesia (Part 1 of 2)

Had a magnificent day sailing around the island of Bora Bora and making some amazing snorkeling stops.  First, we spotted a Giant Manta Ray and we hopped in the water, unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to dive deeper to get a closer look at these monsters.  Then it was off for sharks, stingrays, coral, moray eels and whatever came along.  The final stop was swimming with Lemon sharks and the occasional Black Tip Reef sharks…  these bad boys are big and very scary…  It was simply a magnificent day of snorkeling…  This blog is in two parts, this is part one.

  1. When we were in Bora Bora for a week, one of the hotels had underwater spotlights on the dock and a Giant Manta Ray would come there every night and show off. Your photos are magnificent. Beachlady
