2016 Grand World Voyage, Day 65 Yangon, Myanmar (Part 1)

Our travel to the country of Myanmar which had been closed to the outside world for many years is such an awesome adventure, so much so that we have returned for a second year in a row.  We flew from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam into Yangon, Myanmar this morning and between flights we were able to get in a half day of site seeing.  We had a wonderful guide Zar Zar who made the most of the time we had available....  Thanks Zar Zar!!!!  Our first stop was a Buddhist Monastery for young boys and girls.  The timing was perfect as we were able to watch the young monks line up and receive their noon day meal.  We were fortunate also to see the young Nuns also have their lunch.  Then it was off to a photo stop to the Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world’s most spectacular religious monuments.  On the street at the foot of the pagoda we came across a local market that provided ample opportunities for photos.  We also made a stop at the Karaweik Hall Royal Floating Barge which was stunning.  We stopped for a quick lunch and it was off to the airport for our flight to Bagan, Myanmar.  What a great stop to begin our adventure..........
