Day 172 Bagan, Myanmar (Part 1 of 2)

Balloons over Bagan!!!!!  The most amazing experience!!!!!!  Do I sound excited????  The day arrived in Bagan with an early 5:30 a.m. pick up as we started the adventure that has been my dream as we headed out to the departure grounds where we were met by our pilot Bart who provided refreshments along with a safety briefing and basket selection before our ride began.  Our basket held 8 people, the crew inflated the balloon and off we went.  This adventure is a photographers dream, flying over the more than 2000 Bagan temples and pagodas provided a spectacular  view and different insight into these structures that some date back over 1000 years.  The lift off was smooth and the only sound heard was the click of my camera other than the swooshing of the propane tanks taking high in the sky.  To look out and see all the other balloons floating over this amazing Archaeological Zone was a unique travel experience and so many pictures to choose from for the blog.  The morning smoke/mist added another element to this magical place…. We had a rough landing, almost in the river but all went smoothly and we toasted to our return in a farmer field.  What a magnificent day!!!!
