Our Beijing adventure continued for a second day with a 7:30 pickup at the hotel. Our itinerary for the day was Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace. The crowds were huge everywhere we went… I remember my first visits to China and this was never the case. Most of the tourists are Chinese touring their own country. One of the effects of growing opportunities and growing standard of living. Part of Tiananmen Square was closed to the public but wasn’t a huge problem. As usual the Forbidden City was just stunning. We all enjoyed our time there. Our final stop, one of my favorite places was the Summer Palace. The day was, once again, sensational! What a great group to share our China adventure with….
