Tough Decision but.... finally decided.

I have really struggled with the decision to do another 220 day voyage aboard the ms Amsterdam.  I really struggled with the internet on my last 7 month voyage which was a huge strain...  Blogging is a huge part of my exploring the world.  I decided to take a chance, assuming the internet would be fixed and would operate in a reasonable manner.  The CEO of Holland America Line, Stein Kruse committed to get it fixed and I am betting that he will be successful.....  If it isn't up to snuff, I'll be the first one bringing the concerns to Holland America Line.  I will report on the quality of the system, good or bad....  Anyway, now that I have made my decision, here is the itinerary of my proposed voyage.....

  9. I'm happy to hear that you are going. Have you been to Seoul before? I'll be flying there tomorrow, as I have for over 30 years on business. I could plan my fall visit to coincide with your stop and I can show you the city my model train manufacture. Of course that would mean missing the Zaandam and Westerdam sailings from San Diego.....oh well.....I'm sure someone can cover those days.

  12. Jeff, I've misplaced your business card, could you e-mail me directly and I can get more info to you. The port of Incheon is about 40 miles from downtown Seoul and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namdaemun
I'll be only 15 miles away in Gwangmyeong.
I can arrange for a trusted river for you and your friends, and I'll gather tourist brochures this week and send them to you.
Gotta go catch my 12 hour flight from SFO now.

  13. I'm looking forward to reading about your travels again! However, I actually was a bit surprised when I checked to learn that you indeed are doing another 220 day adventure/cruise. I would think it would get boring since you've done so many. But, I'm glad you don't feel that way, as I do enjoy your blog! Thanks!!

  15. Wow, we've followed your adventures the last few years and are so envious. We tend to do "world" cruises, but in segments and with various lines. Most recent segment ended just last week as we were on a 27 day Japan immersion cruise that included ports in South Korea and Taiwan. It's a real booming cruise industry in Asia and they are going all out for cruisers. Enjoy your trip and we'll envy you as we admire your daily (we hope) updates. Bon voyage a wee bit early!!
