Well, finally made it to Yap! What a day…. Took a tour around the island with a number of friends including Ian, Carole & Ann. This place is so amazing, hard to comprehend the land of stone money. It gives a whole new perspective to “pocket change”. All those photos of large stones with holes in the middle are in fact local currency. Well, in practice they use the US dollar. I tried putting a rock on the counter of a local convenience store to buy a couple of diet cokes but that didn’t work….. bummer! It was a very interesting day! This is part one of two parts…
