Day 21 Pitcairn Island

Beautiful day at sea…..  keep them coming.  We had a nice diversion from our days at sea today, a visit to Pitcairn Island.  We are not able to go ashore but, the islanders come aboard and sell their wares.  They do have some nice souvenirs.  So, the descendants of Fletcher Christian and the other mutineers from the HMS Bounty came for a visit aboard the ms Amsterdam while the Captain sailed around Pitcairn Island for some scenic cruising.  The other highlight for the day (if you are reading this) was a bit of a breakthrough on the internet front, I am able to receive and send emails again….  Hope this isn’t just a temporary phenomenon…  Wonderful day!

  1. Wonderful photos!! Thanks for persevering with the internet. Truly appreciate your posts! Nice to see the Captain smiling: probably the first day for a while, considering...

  2. We are enjoying your pictures and blog and your glorious weather while we are experiencing minus zero temperatures. We were on the 2011 WC on the Amsterdam and it's almost like we are there with you.

  4. Re-discovered your blog today! Love the pictures. My Mom and Dad are on your ship and we haven't heard from them for days - probably caught up in the bad internet... but at least I can get updates from your blog and know the ship is making progress on the 'Grand Voyage'!
