Day 159 At Sea

Today was a wonderful day at sea….  The weather was very hot and sunny.  Spent the day poolside with a fair amount of time in the pool.  Tonight was a very special evening.  I was invited to dinner in the Pinnacle Grill with Stein Kruse, President & CEO of Holland America Line for induction into the President’s Club.  The President’s Club is a fairly exclusive group of people who have sailed for over 1400 days with Holland America.  There are a total of 46 people in this club.  The evening was just wonderful, great food and wonderful dinner companions.  In addition to Stein and his wife Linda, we were joined by Captain Mercer and his wife Karen and Gerald Bernhoft, the head of the Mariner Program.  It was a grand evening…..  what an honor!

  4. Hi Jeff,

Congratulations on being inducted into the President's Club. You certainly deserve it as you have travelled so many years now with HAL and have been a truly great ambassador for the cruise line. I love reading your posts and seeing your beautiful photos and I look forward to many more years of "travelling with you" around the world.

The recent photos of our lovely animals and flora down here were truly beautiful.

  5. Jeff,

Congratulations on this honor and it sounds like you are closing in on another milestone -- four years crusing with HAL. That's a "world" class education and you have earned your BA (Bachelor of Amsterdam),while having a lot of fun along the way. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Congratulations! Indeed an honor. What a way to earn your BA (thanks Bill and Carolyn) with no classes to attend, just a blog and thousands of wonderful photos for me to learn about and see places in this world that I’ve never been or didn’t even know existed. It great being a stowaway enjoying fabulous cruises, if I could only sample some of the food…
