Day 123 Easter Island

Today was a day full of mixed emotions…..  It was simply wonderful to return to Easter Island for my 4th visit but that came with some very strong negative feelings in the process.   The tender operation was handled inconsistent with the “priority” status of 4 and 5 star Mariners.  To put us at a clearly lower priority that the HAL shore excursions is an insult to their most loyal “guests”.   I know that the ship’s management doesn’t see it that way but then again they aren’t walking in our shoes.  Giving a benefit and not honoring it when management sees fit is very troubling.  Putting that aside for the moment, we went on our own, in a rental car, with Brad & Gloria to tour the island.  We had the most wonderful day!  Easter Island is a real treasure with its Moais……  What a great day!

  2. What incredible shots, Jeff! Particularly with the surf crashing along the rocks with Amsterdam just behind.

  5. Hi Jeff,
So glad you were able to visit Easter Island. Wonderful pounding surf shots. Also enjoyed shots of the pool party and the warm sun-we're going into a Canadian deep freeze-expecting foot of snow Friday so keep the sunny photos coming and enjoy your deck chair.
