Day 118 Pisco, Peru

What an amazing day!!!!  I fulfilled one of my long awaited bucket list items today, a visit to the Nazca Lines……  We arrived very early into the port for Pisco, General San Martin.  The desert here reminds me so much of Namibia, just beautiful.  We booked a tour for a flyover the Nazca lines with our friends Del & Linda and were picked up around 8:30.   Before our flight we visited the fishing village of El Chaco and did some shopping and took a few photos.  At 11:30, our 1 hour 50 minute flight on a 12 seater Cessna took off.  The flight and scenery were great…  Once we arrived at the Nazca Lines area things got very exciting.  It truly was a remarkable day.  Now, if we could just figure out how they got there….

  4. Jeff,

I do envy you your day yesterday. We were in Pisco in 2010 on our way from Tahiti to Ft. Lauderdale. We missed Easter Island due to the water being too rough where the tenders were to land and then we were told by the Captain a day out from Pisco, that we would be arriving too late for the flights that we had booked with the ship to see the NASCA Lines. Just as well we hadn't booked a private tour guide as we didn't arrive into Pisco until 1pm instead of early in the morning which meant all the afternoon flights were already booked. Thanks for showing us what we missed out on. Jennie
