Day 7 At Sea

Today was another relaxing day at sea….  It kills me to sit inside when it is so sunny outside but, still way too breezy and cool to sit outside.  In the Crow’s Nest today they annotated the charts to show the earthquake and its’ proximaty to the ship… pretty cool.  Today was a day fro great eating….  First of all, we had Mongalian Barbeque for lunch.  This is always a favorite of mine.  Then for dinner the staff made a special Indonesian dinner for our table, Ayam goreng Bumbu Kecap pedas….  Translation, just about the finest chicked dish that you can eat.  It is a wonderful combination of sweet and spicey.  Just delicious!  Our waiter, Iwan, is doing an amazing job.  The food here has been superb!  Now for some bad news….   As we approach Japan I must let you know that blogging activities could possibly be shut down for about 10 days.  We received an announcement tonight which said:  “Due to regulations (law), ship satellite activity is not permitted whilst docked in Japenese ports or sailing in their territorial waters.  An estimate for the resumption of these services will be known and communicated shortly prior to our arrival.  We apoligize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”  I will try and connect via internet cafes, if possible, otherwise as soon as we are back up I will post a blog for each day that was missed.

  3. That must have been pretty strange to feel the earthquake while on the water. I would have thought that moving in water you wouldn't feel it. Learn something every day.
Enjoy Japan & I look forward to your posts when you are to get the internet.

  4. Hi Jeff
Well we agree, this black out stuff really sucks , for us and of course you! We will miss your comments and pictures for the next few days. More importantly, for us, is that the 5th is Em's 30th birthday, it's not common knowledge amongst the crew as she doesn't want one of those " no-feeling-an-excuse-to-get-drunk parties" we never thought in a million years however that we would not be even be able to call her on her special day.. ( although it is such a wonderfully small number we remember how huge it is when it is happening to you. ) . We just don't understand the reasoning but then we are not Japanese. The long and the short of it is could you please take a moment and if you feel a corporial hug is not appropriate just go and say squidge to her sometime during the day on the fifth and say that we chose very very wisely.

Love your pictures and following your adventures as a chesterfield traveller
    Take care
    Al and Jenn
