Day 25 Torshavn, Faroe Islands, Denmark

It was up early again to catch the views as we sailed toward our destination, Torshavn, Faroe Islands…..  The views are quite dramatic with amazing cliffs along the way.  The town is extremely picturisque,as many fishing villages are.  We took the road, or sheep path less traveled today.  After wandering around  Torshavn this morning we went to the tourist information office for some ideas for today.  The guy suggested taking the number 5 bus to Kirkjubour and hiking back to Torshavn…..  That is exactly what we did….  We took our time, snapping photos along the way as we hiked up sheep paths along the ridges and our the mountain.  It took us probably 2 ½ hours for the trek, time well spent.  The hike and views were amazing.  Once we made it back to town we settled in at a local coffee shop for refreshments and WiFi….  What a fantastic day!!!!

  2. Jeff, your pictures are amazing! The lighthouses and sailboats are so nice. If you made them into artwork I’d buy them in a second (assuming I could afford them!). We just returned from the Summer Sizzler where we participated in the Sizzler Olympics and enjoyed some excellent perogies hand made by mom before she left on the voyage. All the aunt’s had wonderful things to say about you and your blog and were very happy to hear that she is having a great time on your trip. It still amazes me that mom is doing such a ‘cold’ journey, but it sounds like she has been a trooper (for the most part). Thank you for keeping us updated on your treck. I look forward to more pictures! Chris
