Day 11 Djupivigor, Iceland

Oops we did it again…..   We arrived nice and early into the anchorage of Djupivigor just to have the Captain announce that the weather and sea conditions were too hazardous for tender operations.  We waited around for about an hour to see if conditions would change but alas, they did not.  I was out on the forward decks braving the cold and winds from early morning so I did get a few photos to give you a seaside look at Eastern Iceland and Djupivigor….  If you are keeping score for the Voyage of the Vikings here is where we stand…..  6 items on the itinerary so far and 4 cancelled…. Not a good average at all…..  It’s a shame that we have had so much trouble seeing the things we came to see.  For the first timers it is especially difficult…..  Tomorrow we have another day at sea followed by Molde, Norway, or at least that is what is scheduled…. You never know….

  1. Jeff, what a bummer but so good that the last time was so different. I will keep my fingers crossed that all your port cancellation bad luck is over and more importantly, that you can have your Greenland stop on the way back.
    Take care

  2. The forecast for Norway's west coast says not too bad weather, no storms or heavy wind. Molde has beautiful surroundings, I think you will enjoy it there!
