Day 131 Ajaccio, Corsica

Today was another first time visit for me….  We arrived a little earlier than scheduled into the port of Ajaccio this morning.  I went ashore with Mike, Janet, Ed and Becky.  We did a walking tour of the city, starting with the markets,  and then headed for high ground to get some scenic views.  It’s all about Napoleon Bonaparte here where he was raised.  There were many remembrances around the city including the house where he lived and the baptismal where he was baptized.   We had a nice tour of the city and hiked for several miles.  This is a nice place to visit…. Great day!

  1. You must go back to Corsica! So much to see there. We spent two weeks there in 2008 and couldn't possibly have seen all it has to offer. Some of the most beautiful beaches Europe has to offer that are pretty well deserted. Fantastic place.
