Day 124 Transiting the Suez Canal

We had perfect weather for our transit of the Suez Canal from Suez to Port Said.  The transit was scheduled to take 12 hours but ended up taking about 9.  We entered the canal around 6:00 this morning and exited at Port Said into the Mediterranean around 3:00.  The temperatures were soaring, making the time outside very uncomfortable, even for me….  The temperature felt like it hit 100 F, very, very hot….  The sights were amazing as usual.  I never tire of this journey.  Now we enter the Mediterranean hitting our 7th continent on this journey.    Next stop is Piraeus Greece (Athens) where I will leave the ship for 3 days to travel to the Monasteries at Meteora and on to Delphi .  I will rejoin the ship in Katalon Greece, very near where I lived in the mid 70s….

  1. Loving all your photos but particularly those of the Suez Canal as it has brought back many happy memories of when we did the transit back in 2008 on the Nautica.

Looking forward to seeing your photos of Greece.
