Day 92 Lombok, Indonesia

Today was simply amazing….  Mike, Janet, Brad & I hooked up a car, guide & driver at the pier and headed out to explore a bit of Lombok.  We headed out first to the hilltop of Gunung Pensong for great views along with a huge collection of monkeys at the base of the temple.  What a perfect way to start the day.  This place is so lush and beautiful….  Next we headed to Pura Lingsar ,one of Lombok’s oldest temples, located in Sweta.   It is a temple complex divided between Hindu and Sasak Wetu Telu (Muslim) built in 1714…. Pretty cool.  Next it was off to  Narmada to see the Royal Water Palace built in the 19th century.  The, it was the highlight of the day… The Pasar Bertais Market.  This place was alive with activity, colors and wonderful people.  It was one of the best markets  that I have been to as I have traveled the world.  Just wear shoes that you don’t mind getting very, very dirty….  Our final stop was  at Banyumulek, where they are known for making pottery.  What a wonderful day!!!!

  1. Thanks Jeff for sharing once more. You certainly captured the "essence" ~ just lovely. I hope some of the crew will be able to see their loved ones again.
    Happy travels
