Day 112 Mangalore, India (Part 1 of 2)

We went through Indian immigration early this morning and Brad , Gloria & I got right off the ship to explore Mangalore….  We got a taxi driver, outside the gate, and booked him for the day.  First we went to the Shree Gokarnanatha Kalyana Mantapa Hindu temple.  It was a wonderful visit, beautiful temple.  Then it was off to the markets.  It felt like my Sri Lanka experience all over again.  There were no tourists, just a wholesale market with tons of activity.  The people are so friendly, they want photos to be taken. Great visit!!!  Then it was off to St, Aloysius Church, an absolutely stunning church, too bad photos were prohibited on the inside.   We then went to another major highlight, the fish markets….  This was simply fantastic!  Aside from an injury I sustained to both legs on the dock, I absolutely loved this place.  There was so much hustle and bustle, color and chaos…   Perfect!  Then we went to the Kadri Manjunath Temple, another wonderful Hindu Temple.  Our final stop of the day was at the Cashew Factory in Mangalore.  It was interestin to see the entire process of how a raw cashew is processed to the point of being ready to be packaged for consumption.  Please note that, once again, I was over zealous of my photography today so there are 2 parts to the blog….
